From Russia with Love
1963—Terence Young, director—starring Sean Connery, Daniela Bianchi, Pedro Armendáriz, Lotte Lenya and Robert Shaw
The second adaptation of an Ian Fleming James Bond novel, From Russia with Love is considered one of the best. In trademark 007 movie style, Bond travels the world—from Britain to Turkey, and then to Venice via the Orient Express—and we have a briefing by M, a gadget from Q branch, a luscious Bond girl, SPECTRE boss Blofeld petting his cat, action, intrigue, and more girls. Lotte Lenya and Robert Shaw play remarkably cold-blooded villains. The climactic fight between Connery and Shaw in a compartment on the Orient Express took three weeks to film.
