TICKET SALES

Ticket Refunds

All ticket sales are final, there are no refunds or exchanges. Each ticket includes a service fee of $2.78, and applicable taxes. A charge of $2.50 per order is also included to support the Capitol Theatre’s CIF (Capital Improvement Fund). Full payment is required at the time of booking, unless otherwise stated.

If you have purchased tickets for a Capitol Theatre Production or Presentation and it is cancelled by the Capitol Theatre, the option of a refund equal to the face value of the tickets will be made available. Service, delivery and transaction fees, such as CIF, will not be refunded.

Alternatively, the full value of the ticket purchase (including service, delivery and transaction fees) can be used in the following ways; 1) exchanged for tickets to another performance, 2) placed on account that you can use at any time in the future, 3) towards the purchase of a Capitol Theatre gift voucher that you can use at any time in the future, or 4) donated to the theatre in return for a tax receipt for the full value of your purchase

COVID-19 Ticket Guarantee

To instil confidence in your ticket purchase, the Capitol Theatre has put in place a ticket guarantee if your show is cancelled, postponed, or modified due to COVID-19.

If any level of government puts any restrictions in place prohibiting large gatherings at venues and your show or presentation is cancelled, you will be offered the option to accept a full refund for your ticket purchase (including service, delivery and transaction fees). Guests will be encouraged to consider an alternative option prior to requesting a refund. If your show or performance is postponed or rescheduled, we will automatically move your tickets to a new date; however, you will still have the option of asking for a refund, credit, gift voucher or donating the value back to the Capitol Theatre.

Unauthorized Ticket Sales

Tickets purchased or otherwise obtained from someone other than the Capitol Theatre, Spektrix or our authorized agents might be lost, stolen or counterfeit and may not be honoured. Tickets may not be resold without permission from the Capitol Theatre.

THEATRE ETIQUETTE

Live theatre newcomers may not be sure what the proper behaviour and theatre etiquette is when attending a play or musical.

First-timers often wonder:
“What is the appropriate attire for the theatre? Are refreshments available? Are babies allowed? When do I applaud during the performance?”

While these are excellent questions, many visitors to the theatre forget to ask questions in advance regarding theatre etiquette and policies. Etiquette and policies are an important consideration that ensures all audience members will enjoy the show.

Unlike attending a movie, a live performance in a theatre is usually not as loud and the actors on stage rely on the audience to keep noise levels down so that the show is not interrupted by distractions.

While it may seem like common sense, many first-time theatre attendees (and some veteran theatregoers who should probably know better) are not familiar with proper theatre etiquette and behaviour. To help our patrons enjoy every show while remaining courteous to each other and the performers on stage, we have created the following the Do’s and Dont’s (mostly the latter) of theatre etiquette when attending a live performance.
