About the Capitol Theatre’s Art Auction Fundraiser
Over time we accumulate art for various reasons. A piece may speak to us as we work our way through an emotional juncture in life or we may simply respond to a colour palette or stimulating imagery. Often some art will end up in storage or the back of a closet as we move past our interest in the piece. Our styles change and our art tends to reflect our current interests. We end up with pieces which once had a clear connection to us that has weakened over time as new art becomes our focus. We also end up with pieces that no longer fit due to sheer size as we downsize homes and businesses. Or we are looking for larger pieces as we grow and expand. Here you will find something for everyone.

Disclaimer: Every effort has been made by the Capitol Theatre and it’s volunteers to ensure that all of these privately donated lots are presented fairly, both in word descriptions and photos. All sizing is approximate and is for the entire work and not the image size. All sizing is in inches. We have noted condition issues where possible. We have made every effort to identify the artist but some works may be listed as “Unknown”. We have provided links to the artists when possible . Interested bidders can go online to obtain more detail of the artist’s passion and works.
The estimated Fair Market Value or EFMV, was arrived at, through online research, artist gallery sales and sales data provided by the donor or artist, at the time of purchase or creation.
We have done our best to estimate fair value and when in doubt have sided with the lower range of expectations. All lots will begin with opening bids, except where noted, as well as the EFMV. It is up to the bidder to determine the value to them, at the time of auction. Bidding will be in increments of $25.00. Thank you for your continuing support and interest.
