THE NUTCRACKER
from the National Ballet of Canada

Sunday, December 20th at 2pm and 7pm
and Thursday, December 24th at 2pm

The Nutcracker has been synonymous with Christmas celebration and the expansive and unbridled joys of childhood wonderment. James Kudelka’s vibrant, entertaining, touching, and truly spectacular re-imagining of this timeless work entered the National Ballet’s repertoire in 1995 to rapturous acclaim and has been an indispensable part of the rituals and pleasures of the holiday season ever since.
This performance is captured live for cinema and has a run time of 105 minutes.

A CELTIC CHRISTMAS

Monday, December 21st at 2pm

The dynamic musical duo Saskia Tomkins and Steáfán Hannigan will light up the Capitol stage this December with a Celtic Christmas. Transporting the audience from Port Hope to the Rivers, lakes, forests, and headlands of Ireland to gather mistletoe under the old oak trees while being serenaded with classic Christmas Celtics songs.
This performance is live on stage and has a run time of 45 minutes.

SEASONAL SONGS
Brighton’s Annual Holiday Concert Comes to Port Hope

Tuesday, December 22nd at 2pm

Singing songs of the season is an annual tradition for Ian Simpson and Stephanie Bird.  This holiday season they are bringing their holiday concert to the Capitol. Mixing traditional tunes with modern music Ian and Stephanie will lift our spirits.
This performance is live on stage and has a run time of 45 minutes.

CLASSIC TALES & FESTIVE REFLECTIONS

Wednesday, December 23rd at 2pm

Saskia Tomkins, Sean Carthew, and Capitol’s very own Susan Ferley will be taking the stage to captivate audiences with stories and music that highlight the holiday season. From classic tales to festive reflections of Port Hope, this trio will delight your seasonal senses. Join us for this joyous jubilee.

COVID SAFETY MEASURES

With safety being the highest priority, The Capitol Theatre will adapt as news of the COVID-19 virus continues to emerge. We will remain vigilant and informed of our region’s health & safety regulations and make schedule changes or program cancellations accordingly.
All performance tickets will be sold General Admission with no pre-assigned seating requests considered. For the safety of all guests attending performances, seats will be assigned by the theatre ensuring a safe social distance between all parties.
All performances will have a maximum of 50 guests in attendance.
All live performances will have a run time of 45–60 mins with no intermission.
All guests will be required to wear masks throughout performances.
