Featuring Northumberland County’s premier barbershop harmony society. Led by an award winning chorus director, they will be sure to entertain you with their acapella renditions of some of your favourite songs.
A message from the Chordsmen:
CALLING ALL MUSIC LOVERS!!
We promise this show will fill you with joy, the joy of singing,
With songs sung in the Barbershop style – that’s voices only, singing in four-part harmony.
Produced by your community songsters, The Ganaraska Chordsmen, we feature a history of acapella music throughout the evening beginning in the 1800s with Sweet Adeline, with I Don’t Know Why (1931), and the Disney classic Can you Feel the Love (1994. Still more favourites with The Beatles’ When I’m 64(1967), and hail to the 60s with The Drifters’ Under the Boardwalk.
Another highlight of the show is the exciting appearance from Cruisin’ , a group of 5 voices that will have you laughing and tapping your feet to Doo Wop Classics and Rock & Roll songs.
And of special note: Our show begins with the joyful children’s voices of the group SONG, Songs Of the Next Generation.
Barbershoppers all over Canada support a charity called Sing Canada Harmony, which supports musical endeavors including youth vocal music programs. This is all made possible by donors who believe singing plays a vital role in the development of a healthy, creative and engaged community.
We would love to meet you, and sing for you.
