Please Prepare:  16 bars from 2 contrasting songs, preferably an up-tempo and a ballad.  At least 1 song should be a traditional musical theatre piece -i.e. Gershwin, Porter, Coward, Rodgers and Hart, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner & Lowe, etc.   The second song need not be traditional musical theatre, though it should show your strength and vocal range.   Please note: due to time restraints we may only hear one song.    You may sing from the shows!

Production & Creative Team submissions are also encouraged.  We are always happy to work with new Choreographers, Musical Directors, Stage Managers, Assistant Stage Managers, Apprentice Stage Managers, Costume Designers, Lighting Designers, Props Masters, etc.

Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: The Port Hope Festival Theatre is an equal opportunity employer.  Performers of all ethnicities, ages and sizes are encouraged to audition.

About The Capitol:  The Capitol Theatre is led by Artistic Director & GM Antonio Sarmiento and has become a leading Regional Theatre that is utilizing innovative cinematic approaches to live entertainment.  It is one of Canada’s only remaining “atmospheric theatres” and now a nationally designated historical landmark.  Due to limited space backstage, the Capitol uses cutting edge technologies in digital projection to enhance live theatre productions to great success.  The Capitol is also known for it’s proximity to Toronto and the beautiful and historic community.  Coupled with a “Can Do” and positive approach to the process of creating quality shows in a limited space, the Capitol is drawing top talent to its productions both on and off stage.

Recent productions include: “SNOW WHITE The Panto”, “Mamma Mia!”, “Crazy For You”,”SNARL’D! The Rapunzel Panto”, “Singin’ In The Rain”, “SHOUT! The Mod Musical”, “On A First Name Basis”, “Aladdin! The Panto”, “Disney’s Mary Poppins”,”Broadway! Andrew Lloyd Webber”, “Driving Miss Daisy”
